Daytona is a car town, and car towns have a specific problem with floor coatings: the garage is in use. A project car on stands, a bike mid-rebuild, a lift that cannot be moved easily. The question is rarely whether a coated floor is worth it, it is how few days the space has to be out of commission.
Why polyurea suits this
Of our three basecoats, polyurea sets fastest. It goes down thin at six to eight mils and takes foot traffic in about ninety minutes, which means the flake broadcast, the scrape, and the polyaspartic topcoat all happen the same day comfortably. You are walking on it that evening and parking on it inside 24 to 48 hours.
It is not that polyurea is tougher. All three of our systems carry identical published numbers: the same 4,000 psi tensile strength, the same abrasion loss, the same adhesion, the same topcoat. Polyurea just gets there sooner, and on a working garage that is worth something.
When we will steer you elsewhere
If your slab reads damp, we will put an epoxy basecoat down instead, because it handles roughly four times the moisture vapor and polyurea does not. That happens more often on beachside properties and anything close to the Halifax. The price does not change, so there is no reason for us to talk you into the wrong one.
