Epoxy Basecoat
- Sixteen mil build, the thickest basecoat of the three
- Highest moisture tolerance, roughly four times the others

Polyurea Basecoat
- Six to eight mil build, the fastest set of the three
- Foot traffic in about ninety minutes after the basecoat

Should my Florida garage floor be epoxy or polyurea?
Both, depending on the slab. We install epoxy, polyurea, and polyaspartic basecoats, all sealed under the same polyaspartic topcoat, and their published test numbers are identical: same adhesion, same tensile strength, same abrasion loss, same gloss retention under accelerated UV. The epoxy basecoat tolerates roughly four times the moisture vapor coming up through a slab on grade, so on this coast it is often the right call. We measure your concrete and spec the basecoat that fits. The price is the same either way.
How long does installation take?
Most residential garage floors are ground, repaired, coated, and finished in one day. Light foot traffic within hours, vehicles within 24 to 48 hours depending on conditions.

Does salt air really matter?

How long does polyaspartic take to cure in Florida humidity?
About 6 hours to walk on and 24 to 48 hours before you park, even in summer humidity. Polyaspartic actually cures well in Florida conditions, which is one reason we use a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat on every system. We confirm your exact times at walkthrough based on that day's temperature and dew point.
